Document Controller (Temporary – Ongoing)

Site based, Northumberland

£30,000 - £32,000 salary

We’re delighted to be supporting this growing, progressive engineering company in their search for an experienced Document Controller to their team on a temporary ongoing basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and detail-driven professional to play a key role in managing project documentation and supporting quality processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all documentation, paperwork, and records are maintained in line with relevant procedures and company policies


• Liaise with customers and suppliers where documentation impacts quality or delivery


• Receive certificates and reports, logging them onto project certificate registers with unique identifiers


• Expedite internal documentation (certificates, reports, drawings) required for Manufacturing Record Books (MRBs)


• Register and manage project-specific MRBs, ensuring accurate identification and tracking


• Compile MRBs in accordance with approved indexes and client requirements


• Issue completed MRBs to clients via Document Control


• Produce weekly MRB status reports as directed by the Quality Manager


• Maintain company documentation (procedures, specifications, drawings), ensuring proper storage and record-keeping


• Control the printing, distribution, revision, and withdrawal of documentation in line with company procedures

• Proven experience in a Document Controller or similar administrative role


• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills


• Ability to manage multiple documents and deadlines effectively


• Confident communicator with the ability to liaise across teams and with external stakeholders


• Familiarity with document control systems and quality processes (advantageous)
