Digital Solutions Engineer – Automation, Data & Analytics, and Platforms – Senior Manager/Manager – Tax & Legal Technology
Ready to drive scalable automation, data solutions, and configure platforms in Tax \& Legal services?
We are looking for an experienced Digital Solutions Engineer to join our Tax \& Legal Technology team in Sweden. In this senior role (Senior Manager or Manager, depending on experience), you will bridge business needs and technology delivery by designing and implementing automation, data \& analytics, and platform solutions that transform how our Tax \& Legal practice operates. This is a hands\-on position focused on building integrated, low\-code solutions – moving our operations from fragmented, manual processes to seamlessly automated, data\-driven workflows. You will collaborate closely with tax and legal professionals and the Nordic technology team to deliver impactful digital improvements. It is a unique opportunity to play a visible role in our digital transformation, where your work will drive efficiency gains, data insights, and innovative service delivery across Tax \& Legal.
About the role
As a Digital Solutions Engineer, you will be the technical problem\-solver linking Tax \& Legal experts with enabling technologies. You will translate business requirements into practical solutions and lead end\-to\-end development of those solutions – from initial design through configuration, integration, test, and rollout. You will work across a spectrum of low\-code platforms and data tools to automate workflows, build analytics capabilities, and configure enterprise software for optimal use. Importantly, you will ensure our local solutions align with global platforms and architecture to maximize reuse and scalability (for example, contributing to our Digital Gateway data ecosystem initiative). In short, you act as a builder and integrator, delivering solutions that enhance both internal operations and client offerings.
What you will do
Automation \& Workflow Transformation: Design and implement end\-to\-end automation solutions using tools like Microsoft Power Automate (Power Platform) and Alteryx, replacing manual processes with standardized, scalable digital workflows. Identify high\-impact automation opportunities in Tax \& Legal processes, then build workflows or RPA bots to streamline and optimize these processes. Ensure automation solutions follow best practices for governance and security while delivering measurable efficiency gains.
Data \& Analytics Enablement: Build data pipelines and analytical workflows to enable real\-time insights and data\-driven decisions. Develop data transformation processes (e.g., using Alteryx or Azure data services) and lightweight analytical models that ensure accurate, timely data is available to consultants and leadership. Work with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) to create dashboards or reports that turn raw data into actionable insights for our Tax \& Legal teams.
Platform Configuration \& Optimization: Configure and manage enterprise SaaS platforms (for example, specialized tax software like Kalkit) to meet business needs. This involves bridging standard platform functionality with tailored configurations, so our users get maximum value with minimal custom code. You will implement configuration changes, forms, or workflows within these platforms, ensuring they integrate with our broader systems landscape. In doing so, you act as a link between vendor solutions and internal requirements, making sure platforms are optimally tuned for our Tax \& Legal use cases.
Digital Gateway Integration: Serve as a key contributor to our global Digital Gateway data ecosystem, integrating local automation and analytics solutions into the wider KPMG platform framework. You will collaborate with global technology teams to align local solutions with global standards (avoiding one\-off local silos) and to leverage global data platforms for local needs. This ensures we build scalable solutions that can be reused and that local innovations contribute to global initiatives.
End\-to\-End Solution Delivery: Integrate automation, data, and third\-party systems into cohesive, cross\-platform solutions rather than isolated tools. For each initiative, you will design the overall solution architecture, then configure or develop the necessary components (automated workflows, data pipelines, APIs/integrations) to deliver a connected outcome. You will manage the solution lifecycle from prototyping through test, deployment, and user adoption, coordinating with the firm’s centralized IT department and business stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation.
Throughout these responsibilities, you will work iteratively – gathering requirements together with Business Technology Leads and business stakeholders, rapidly prototyping in low\-code environments, and refining solutions based on feedback. You will also contribute to change management and training, helping end\-users embrace new tools and ways of working as we transform our operations.

Skills \& Requirements
Proven experience in digital solution delivery: You have \~5\-7\+ years’ experience in roles at the intersection of business and technology (e.g., automation engineer, digital solutions developer, or similar), preferably in consulting or a complex corporate environment. Hands\-on track record of designing and delivering digital solutions (automation workflows, data analytics projects, and software implementations) that improved business outcomes. You excel at understanding business processes and translating requirements into tangible solutions.
Technical proficiency (low\-code, automation \& data tools, and configuration experience): Hands\-on expertise with a range of automation and analytics technologies. In particular, you have strong experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps for app development, Power Automate for workflows/RPA), Alteryx for data preparation and automation, and Azure cloud services. You are comfortable integrating solutions via APIs and building data pipelines/ETL flows (e.g., using Azure Data Factory or similar). Familiarity with additional RPA tools, analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, or Qlik), and basic scripting (SQL, Python) is a plus. Most importantly, you are a fast learner able to quickly adopt new cloud\-based tools and technologies as the ecosystem evolves.
Strategic problem\-solving and design mindset: You can see the “big picture” and design solutions that are scalable and reusable, rather than point fixes. You approach problems analytically, mapping out processes and data flows to identify root causes and improvement opportunities. You ensure that architecture alignment and governance are built into your solutions (balancing innovation with compliance and risk considerations).
Stakeholder collaboration \& communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work closely with non\-technical stakeholders (tax and legal experts) and tech teams alike. You can translate technical concepts into business\-friendly language and inspire confidence in technology solutions. Experience running workshops, discussing requirements, and providing user training or support is valuable. You are adept at managing multiple priorities across different business areas and can influence and guide decisions to ensure successful adoption of new tools.
Domain knowledge: Experience in Tax \& Legal, finance or compliance\-related processes is highly meritorious. While you will receive support to learn domain specifics, a background in professional services or corporate finance environment helps you grasp context and identify relevant use cases faster.
Education \& language: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business with a tech focus). Professional certifications in automation and data (e.g., Alteryx, Power Platform, Azure) are a plus.
Fluency in English is required and a strong proficiency in Swedish is preferred.
Location \& ways of working
This role is based in Stockholm, Sweden, working in a Nordic collaboration model. Other locations in Sweden may be considered for the right candidate. We offer a hybrid work environment – while you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders in Sweden and occasionally across Nordic countries (some travel may be needed for key meetings or workshops), we support flexible arrangements. You will be part of a diverse, tech\-savvy Tax Transformation unit, with a supportive culture that encourages innovation and knowledge\-sharing across borders.
We are looking for candidates based in Sweden who hold a valid work permit.
