<p>Jump is looking for a Digital Modem Engineer to join our world class wireless team. In this role, you will you will lead the design and development of custom, low-latency modem architectures for our point-to-point wireless networks around the globe.</p>
<p><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Design, simulate, and realize innovative physical layer wireless communication algorithms for low latency applications</li>
<li>Implement modem/system models and perform detailed performance investigations to allow performance sign-off and enable RTL development</li>
<li>Collaborate with digital designers and firmware developers to realize algorithms with power and area efficient implementation</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Skills You’ll Need:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>At least 5+ years of experience in the design, build, and deployment of digital modem systems</li>
<li>Deep knowledge and demonstrated experience in digital modem design, including</li>
<li>Transmit and receive pulse shaping digital filter design</li>
<li>Symbol rate throughput, latency, and spectral occupancy analysis and optimization</li>
<li>Carrier/symbol clock offset tracking and recovery</li>
<li>Adaptive equalization using blind, training-based, and decision-directed algorithms</li>
<li>Channel modeling and simulation</li>
<li>Fixed point design, simulation and analysis</li>
<li>Experience with Python, C/C++ and/or Matlab for algorithm development, modeling (floating-point and fixed-point) and link-level simulation</li>
<li>MS/PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience</li>
<li>Reliable and predictable availability </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Bonus Points:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in logic design for wireless modem FPGAs, ASICs or custom data-path components for DSP applications (sequential and arithmetic components)</li>
<li>Familiarity with Radio Frequency (RF) and microwave components: oscillators, mixers, attenuators, amplifiers, couplers, isolators, Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) layout</li>
