Main Purpose of the Role

The Digital Content and Marketing Coordinator creates brilliant, audience\-focused digital content that grows awareness of Compton Verney, supports visits and membership, and brings our art, nature, programme, people and place to life.

They lead our day\-to\-day organic social media and play an active role in wider marketing delivery across email, website, paid digital and integrated campaigns. Curious about audiences, culture and digital behaviour, they spot the stories, details and opportunities others might miss and turn them into distinctive content that makes people stop scrolling, engage, click, book and come back for more.

Key Responsibilities

Create distinctive digital content

· Create engaging written, photographic, video and simple graphic content for social media, email, website and marketing campaigns.

· Find the stories, people, moments and behind\-the\-scenes details that make Compton Verney interesting, and turn them into content worth sharing.

· Adapt ideas for different audiences, platforms and formats while maintaining our voice, brand and accessibility standards.

Lead social media and community engagement

· Lead a lively, relevant and well\-planned organic social media presence, balancing planned campaigns with timely opportunities and fresh ideas.

· Stay close to changing platforms, online culture and emerging formats, using trends when they genuinely add something rather than simply because they are popular.

· Manage routine comments, messages and enquiries professionally, recognising when sensitive, complex or reputational issues need to be escalated.

Deliver digital marketing and campaigns

· Turn campaign briefs into effective, audience\-focused marketing across social media, email, website and other digital channels, with clear messages, objectives and calls to action.

· Build and send an agreed portfolio of marketing emails, including writing and editing copy, sourcing content, testing and scheduling.

· Create, update and adapt website content to support campaigns, programme information and audience journeys.

· Create and adapt content for paid digital campaigns, working with the Marketing and Communications Manager and external specialists where required.

· Depending on experience and development, support or take responsibility for smaller paid digital campaigns within agreed budgets and objectives.

Use insight to make content better

· Monitor agreed measures including reach, engagement, traffic and conversions and use them to understand what is working.

· Use audience insight, performance data and feedback to improve content, timing, formats and platform choices.

· Test new ideas with curiosity and purpose, sharing useful learning with colleagues and adapting quickly when something is not working.

Plan and collaborate well

· Build positive relationships across Compton Verney so that strong stories, information and content opportunities are identified early.

· Manage a busy content calendar and competing priorities confidently, balancing planned work with the need to respond quickly when a good opportunity appears.

· Work with colleagues to coordinate campaigns across digital and offline channels so that audiences receive clear and joined\-up communications.

· Support creator, influencer, photography and video activity where it strengthens campaign delivery and audience reach.

· Maintain organised content, asset, credit and permissions records and communicate clearly about deadlines, priorities and capacity.

Work responsibly, inclusively and sustainably

· Create and publish content in line with Compton Verney’s requirements for accessibility, brand, data protection, copyright, permissions and safeguarding.

· Contribute to an inclusive, collaborative and sustainable working culture and consider environmental impact when planning content and commissions.

· Take reasonable care of your own health and wellbeing and that of others, and undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the scope and level of the role.

Person Specification

We are interested in what you can do and the potential you can bring. You do not need to have worked in an art gallery or museum before, and we do not expect one person to arrive knowing everything.

You will have:

· Relevant experience creating digital content, managing social media or delivering digital marketing in a professional setting.

· Strong written and visual storytelling skills, including experience creating social content such as photography, short\-form video or simple graphics.

· Experience creating or delivering content across more than one digital marketing channel, such as social media, email or websites.

· The ability to adapt ideas, tone and format for different audiences, platforms and objectives.

· Experience planning content or campaigns and managing several priorities and deadlines.

· An understanding of how audience insight and performance data can improve digital marketing.

· An understanding of how paid digital activity can support wider campaigns, with experience creating content for paid channels or an interest in developing this area.

· A practical understanding of accessible digital content, copyright, permissions and responsible use of personal data.

· Confidence using content creation and digital marketing tools, with the ability to learn unfamiliar platforms quickly.

You will also be:

· Digitally curious. You have a strong feel for social platforms and online culture and are interested in how digital behaviour keeps changing.

· Creative with judgement. You know what might make someone stop scrolling, but you also know that being current does not mean following every trend.

· Full of ideas and able to make them happen. You can take an idea from first spark to finished content without needing every step mapped out for you.

· Audience\-focused. You think about who content is for, what they need from it and what you want them to feel, understand or do next.

· Organised, collaborative and proactive. You build good relationships, keep several priorities moving and are comfortable seeking out stories rather than waiting for them to arrive.

· Open to learning. You are interested in what works, what does not and why, and willing to test, adapt and improve.

· Committed to inclusion and accessibility. You want our digital content to feel welcoming, useful and relevant to as many people as possible.
