About the role
In this role, you will combine strategic leadership with hands\-on technical insight. You will act as the primary expert for the engineering platform, define technical direction, and ensure our infrastructure is robust, scalable, and reliable. You have a helicopter perspective and a strong focus on quality, maintainability, and long\-term architecture.
As Lead DevOps Engineer, you will:
- Own the platform roadmap and treat infrastructure as a product with clear goals and measurable outcomes
- Ensure high\-quality, reliable platform services that support the organization’s productivity
- Drive modernization initiatives while balancing legacy systems with future needs
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams, architects, and stakeholders to align priorities and manage dependencies
- Prioritize initiatives based on developer feedback, performance data, and organizational needs
- Guide 4 engineers through technical leadership, with the ambition to grow the team
- Evaluate on\-premise and cloud solutions to ensure cost\-effective, scalable operations
To succeed in this role, you are a strategic thinker who is also comfortable going hands\-on when it adds leverage. You are experienced in software engineering for complex environments, understand compiled language ecosystems, and have a strong track record with CI/CD and build systems. You know how to balance developer productivity, reliability, and maintainability, and can translate technical complexity into actionable strategic direction.
We see that you are:
- Experienced hands\-on in multi\-platform C\+\+ projects and complex technical environments
- Skilled in CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitLab) and Infrastructure as Code
- Comfortable with on\-premise infrastructure and able to understand architecture, dependencies, and trade\-offs
- A natural leader who listens, builds consensus, and makes balanced decisions
- Capable of working strategically while maintaining technical credibility and hands\-on understanding
- Hands\-on experience in C\+\+ or C\#
- Experience with TeamCity or other build/packaging systems
- Understanding of legacy systems and strategies for modernization
- Background in embedded development toolchains and large\-scale software environments
