Development Engineer Mechanical Design

Join the Turbine Development department within gas turbine business in Baden (AG) and contribute to the continuous improvement of Ansaldo Energia products.

Your tasks

• Create and construct designs for gas turbine blade, vane and heatshield components, taking into account manufacturing, lifetime, performance, assembly as well as cost targets


• Iterate closely with other functional turbine teams like Aerodynamics, Cooling, Mechanical Integrity, Manufacturing and Reconditioning


• Issue and check manufacturing specifications and technical reports


• Prepare design review material, capture lessons learned and ensure the integration of manufacturing and field feedback into the design


• Support manufacturing process development by providing feedback during their development and nonconformity resolutions to Quality and Logistics

Your profile

• Degree in engineering or equivalent qualification


• Minimum 5 years’ experience preferably in high temperature component design with state\-of\-the\-art methods (e.g. 3D\-CAD NX and Teamcenter)


• Good knowledge of investment casting and machining processes


• Good knowledge of mechanics and physics of materials


• Availability to travel 10% of the time, globally


• Fluency in English and basic German language skills


• Open\-minded, analytical and target\-oriented team player able to work in a multicultural environment


• Creative, thorough and independent with good negotiation skills
