City Building provides a range of repairs and maintenance, manufacturing, construction and refurbishment activities for Glasgow City Council and Wheatley Housing Group’s citizens and customers as well as other public, private and third sector organisations.

City Building operates both the largest construction craft apprenticeship programme in Scotland, and Royal Strathclyde Blindcraft Industries (RSBi), one of the largest supported manufacturing businesses in Europe, around 200 people, more than 50% of whom have a disability.

About the Role
------------------

The Development Support Manager is a key role within RSBi, making a direct impact on employee development, inclusion, and success. Acting as a central point of support, you will work closely with employees, internal teams, training providers, and external agencies to help individuals overcome barriers, achieve their full potential, and sustain meaningful employment.

You will lead the delivery of employee support initiatives, including the Access to Work and TESG programmes, manage the RSBi Learning Centre, and oversee the Schools Vocational Programme, helping to create pathways into education, training, and employment.

This role also involves maintaining support records and funding claims, building strong partnerships with organisations such as the DWP and BASE, and ensuring employees have access to the guidance and opportunities they need to thrive.

How to Apply

You will have proven management/supervisory experience, together with experience supporting individuals with diverse needs and delivering programmes that achieve positive outcomes.

You will possess strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast\-paced environment. You will have knowledge of supported employment principles and disability\-related support and funding programmes.

A proactive, solutions\-focused approach, combined with sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and implement practical solutions, will be essential to success in the role.

You will be confident building positive relationships with employees, colleagues, and external partners, and capable of developing effective support strategies that deliver high\-quality outcomes.

You will also be comfortable representing RSBi with schools, colleges, and other stakeholders, whilst contributing at management level to support the organisation's wider objectives.

You will demonstrate strong administrative and business support expertise, ensuring robust record management, regulatory compliance, and the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
