DAS Engineer (In\-Building Cellular Coverage)

Sigma Wireless are recruiting for a DAS Engineer to join our expanding team.

About the Role

As a Graduate Engineer, you will join our growing in‑building wireless team to deliver indoor mobile coverage and capacity solutions – including active and passive distributed antenna systems (DAS), RF repeater systems and small‑cell deployments – across offices, hospitals, airports, datacentres and complex venues. You’ll be mentored by senior RF engineers and gain hands‑on experience in iBwave modelling, CW surveys, link budgets, commissioning and KPI verification.

Key Responsibilities

· Design in‑building DMR and cellular systems (2G/3G/4G/5G) using iBwave, including 3D modelling, propagation prediction, antenna layouts, component selection, cable routing and BoMs.

· Support the sales process with system solutions and proposal documents

· Assist with the preparation system designs, system\-handover documentation, etc.

· Conduct \& support on‑site design surveys: RF system planning, cable route checks and installation planning.

· Measure and analyse RF data.

· Perform link‑budget calculations and complete basic ICNIRP exposure assessments under guidance.

· Assist with commissioning, integration, testing and troubleshooting, documenting results.

· Collaborate with project managers, installers and client stakeholders to ensure delivery on time, scope and quality.

What You Will Learn

· DMR \& Cellular fundamentals for DAS and small cells (topologies, RF over Fibre, passive/hybrid).

· iBwave proficiency, RF survey methods, KPI‑based optimisation.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in electronic, telecommunications or electrical engineering (or closely related RF discipline).

· Understanding of RF propagation, antenna behaviour and link budgets.

· Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret RF datasets and drawings.

· Good communication; full clean driving licence; right to work in Ireland.

Career Path

With mentoring and formal training, the successful graduate can progress to Engineer in 12–24 months, taking ownership of full venue designs, and onward to Senior Engineer leading more complex projects.
