As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a talented and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in the development of new products and the continuous improvement of our existing machinery range.

Job Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be involved throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept and design through to manufacture and testing. Working closely with production, purchasing, sales, and service, you will help deliver innovative, practical, and cost\-effective engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and develop agricultural machinery, components, and assemblies using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks).

· Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation.

· Support new product development projects from concept through to production.

· Develop new and existing parts manuals.

· Improve existing products to enhance performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.

· Conduct engineering calculations, analysis, and design validation activities.

· Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical and production ready.

· Assist with prototype development, testing, and product evaluation.

· Support compliance with relevant industry standards and safety requirements.

· Participate in problem\-solving and root cause analysis for product and production issues.

About You

Essential

· Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

· Experience using SAP.

· Experience in mechanical design and product development.

· Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks experience preferred).

· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication, and engineering principles.

· Ability to create accurate technical drawings and documentation.

· Excellent problem\-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

· Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

· Experience designing agricultural or heavy machinery products.

· Knowledge of welded fabrications, hydraulics, driveline systems, and structural design.

· A interest in Agricultural machinery.

· Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
