Design Engineer

David Walsh Civil Engineering Ltd is a family\-owned business, providing a wide range of high\-quality civil engineering, utility infrastructure and residential construction services and solutions throughout Ireland.

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a Design Engineer to work on a variety of civil engineering, infrastructure and Design \& Build projects under long\-term public\-sector and utility frameworks.

This is a full\-time, office\-based role suited to someone who enjoys being involved across several live projects, working closely with site teams, design teams and management to help bring projects from planning and design through to construction and completion.

Minimum Requirements:

• Construction or Engineering related qualification, or relevant experience.


• 3\+ years’ experience in a similar role.


• Experience in civils, infrastructure, utilities or public\-sector works would be an advantage.


• Strong technical, organisational and communication skills.


• Competency in design coordination, technical queries, project documentation and programme updates.


• Strong awareness of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.


• Familiarity with BCAR, Safety Files, O\&M documentation or commissioning would be an advantage.

• Coordinate design information, technical queries, design logs, project files and general project documentation.


• Attend design coordination meetings, project meetings and occasional site visits.


• Review design information and assist in ensuring project scope, design and constructability align.


• Support project reporting, programme updates and general project coordination.


• Assist with commissioning, Safety File, O\&M and BCAR documentation.


• Support HSQE monthly reporting and ensure project records are maintained to a high standard.


• Provide technical input on tenders, programmes and project submissions.


• Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, site teams and management.
