Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home
Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join an established children’s residential home in Pudsey, Leeds.
The home supports young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and provides a safe, structured and nurturing environment focused on achieving positive outcomes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager, Senior Support Worker, Senior Residential Support Worker or Team Leader who has strong experience within an Ofsted\-regulated children’s residential setting and is ready to take on greater management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the effective day\-to\-day running of the home.
- Provide strong leadership and guidance to the residential care team.
- Lead shifts and ensure consistently high standards of care and safeguarding.
- Support compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.
- Oversee care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
- Support young people with EBD and complex needs in achieving positive outcomes.
- Supervise, mentor and develop residential staff.
- Assist with staff rotas, supervision, performance and service development.
- Ensure incidents, safeguarding concerns and relevant records are managed appropriately.
- Maintain accurate documentation, audits and quality\-assurance processes.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, families, local authorities and other professionals.
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required and support the continued development of the home.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have:
- Previous experience within an Ofsted\-regulated children’s residential home.
- Experience at Deputy Manager, Senior Support Worker, Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader or a similar senior level.
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD and/or complex needs.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
- Knowledge of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- The confidence to support and develop a residential care team.
- A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
£38,000–£42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
All appointments will be subject to appropriate pre\-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Pay: £38,000\.00\-£42,000\.00 per year
