We're Unique Inns — an independent pub company with two brilliant, community\-rooted venues in the East Midlands Airport area. We've got big plans: five sites in three years, with Site 3 opening early next year.

We don't hire GMs from outside when we can grow them from within. That's not a tagline — it's how we work.

The Role

We're looking for a Deputy General Manager who's ready to become a General Manager within 9 months. This is at our flagship site \- The Castle Inn, Castle Donington.

You'll work closely with our current GM — who is stepping up to lead the opening of Site 3 — learning the Unique Inns way from the inside. By the time Site 3 opens, you won't be watching from the sidelines. You'll be running the show.

This is a real succession plan, not a maybe.

What You'll Be Doing

• Running daily operations across front of house, food, drink and service


• Leading and developing a genuinely brilliant close\-knit team


• Working alongside kitchen leadership on quality and consistency


• Getting hands\-on with GP, labour and compliance — but never losing the human touch


• Playing an active role in events, community, and what makes the venue tick


• Preparing yourself — with full support — to step into a GM seat

• Pub or hospitality management experience at AM level or above


• A people\-first mindset — for your team and your guests


• Someone who belongs on the floor, not behind a desk


• Commercial awareness with warmth and common sense to match


• Genuine ambition — and the drive to back it up


• Food operation or kitchen experience is a strong plus
