Deputy Dispensary Manager
Are you an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician looking to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a positive, proactive Deputy Dispensary Manager to join our friendly team and support the smooth running of our busy dispensary based at Princess Royal University Hospital.
In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll work closely with the Dispensary Manager and wider pharmacy team to ensure the safe, efficient, and caring delivery of services to our patients. You’ll help lead day\-to\-day operations, support staff training, and play a key role in maintaining our excellent standards of care.

- To organise and manage the provision of all dispensary\-based services, including inpatients, outpatients, and controlled drugs to agreed performance targets with guidance and support from the dispensary manager.
- To supervise staff and activities in the dispensary to ensure that all work in completed accurately, promptly and in order of priority.
- To implement planned service developments effectively.
- To supervise investigation of stock level discrepancies within the dispensary and to liaise with stores senior staff for stock transfers from stores, writing off expired stock and to correct stock level discrepancies.
- To answer queries, both on the telephone and in person, with medical, nursing staff and patients and seek help from a pharmacist when necessary.
- To be an accredited checking pharmacy technician (ACPT).
- To investigate clinical incidents occurring in the dispensary. This will involve completion of dispensing error investigation forms when errors are reported; retrieval of patient records/dispensing records and discussion with staff involved in the incident. Results of the investigation may be entered onto the Inphase risk management system if appropriate.
