Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail\-oriented Depot Manager to lead our operational team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily depot activities, ensure efficient logistics processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your leadership will ensure the smooth running of all warehouse and transportation functions, fostering a safety\-focused and productive environment.
Duties
Lead the depot team by example — setting the standard for professionalism, safety, productivity and attitude that others follow.
- Plan and allocate daily workloads to maximise productivity and utilisation.
- Ensure all tyre fitting, inspection and repair work meets company and safety standards.
- Monitor technician performance, attendance, training and development, and coach the team to raise standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
- Manage depot stock, ensuring accurate stock control and regular audits.
- Monitor depot revenue, gross profit, labour costs and overall performance.
- Ensure all jobs, paperwork and systems are completed accurately.
- Maintain high standards of Health \& Safety, housekeeping and depot presentation at all times.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, complaints, stock discrepancies and quality issues, and act decisively to put things right.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and increase depot revenue — bringing ideas forward, not just following process.
- Monitor key KPIs including productivity, inspections, repairs, stock accuracy, customer service and profitability.
Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 17:30
Saturday: 08:00 – 13:00
*The role may occasionally require flexibility outside these hours to meet operational and customer requirements.*
Experience
- A natural leader who leads by example and brings out a can\-do attitude in others.
- Previous management or supervisory experience, preferably within the commercial tyre, automotive or transport industry.
- Strong knowledge of truck and commercial vehicle tyres.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Customer and commercially focused, with a strong sense of ownership.
- Strong understanding of Health \& Safety.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to participate in the REACT emergency response service.
