NHS Dentist is a well\-established, busy NHS dental practice based in Fulham and Earl’s Court, with over 27 years of dedicated service. Our large, supportive team includes 18 dentists, 5 hygienists, 17 dental nurses, and 5 receptionists, 2 Treatment Coordinators all working together to deliver outstanding care. We are proud to have achieved over 1,200 Google reviews from our happy patients.

We are an innovative practice operating to very high standards, including Infection Control Gold Standard, and this role is ideal for someone who is flexible, a true team player, and passionate about delivering an excellent patient experience.

As a dual\-service provider, we offer both NHS and private dental care, ensuring access to a comprehensive range of treatments. Our services include dental implants, Invisalign, periodontal therapy, and endodontic therapy, catering to the diverse needs of our patients.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a friendly, highly organised Dental Receptionist with excellent communication skills to join our team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will manage appointments, handle enquiries, and support the smooth running of the practice in a fast\-paced environment.

You will be patient\-focused, reliable, and adaptable, with a positive attitude, a willingness to go above and beyond, and a strong desire to learn and improve.

Key Responsibilities:

1\. Greeting and welcoming patients: Serve as the first point of contact for our patients, providing a warm and professional welcome.

2\. Answering and directing phone calls: Manage incoming calls and supporting patients with their needs/requests in a professional manner.

3\. Scheduling and managing appointments: Coordinate appointments and diary management.

4\. Maintaining the reception area: Keep the reception area tidy, organised, and presentable.

5\. Assisting with administrative tasks: Support other departments with basic administrative duties, e\-mail and referral correspondence.

6\. Processing payments: Complete payment processing, handle billing queries, and ensure accurate record\-keeping.

7\. Team player: Liaise with all team members to ensure smooth communication and workflow throughout the practice.

8\. Customer service: Address patient concerns and complaints in a courteous and professional manner. Provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive patient experience.

Experience:

  • Secondary school GCSEs or equivalent; additional certification in office administration or related fields is a plus.

  • Proven experience as a receptionist, preferably in a dental setting.

  • Proficient in dental practice management software (e.g., EXACT).

  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Professional and friendly demeanour with a focus on customer service.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

  • Basic knowledge of dental terminology and procedures (preferred).
Working Conditions:
  • 40 hours per week with some flexibility required for early morning or later shifts. Alternate Saturdays are required, with a half\-day in lieu given.
