Staffordshire Community Dental Service

Registered Dental Nurse Full Time Post

Hours of work 37\.5 hours per week (will include occasional OOH sessions and travel to other sites)

Location: Dental Dept, Tunstall Primary Care Centre, Stoke on Trent ST6 6BE

To provide clinical and operational support to dental clinicians within the Community Dental Service, ensuring the delivery of high\-quality, safe, and effective care to patients, including those with complex needs and limited access to mainstream dental services.

  • Provide chairside assistance to dental clinicians during a full range of treatments.

  • Prepare and maintain the clinical environment, ensuring adherence to infection prevention and control policies.

  • Decontaminate instruments and maintain equipment in line with national and Trust guidelines.

  • Take and/or process dental radiographs in accordance with IRMER regulations.

  • Provide support, reassurance, and care to patients, including those who are anxious, vulnerable, or have additional needs.

  • Assist clinicians in the treatment of patients under inhalation, intravenous sedation, or general anaesthesia, including monitoring and recovery processes.

  • Promote oral health and deliver basic oral hygiene advice where appropriate.

  • Ensure patients are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion always.

  • Support in the effective day\-to\-day delivery of dental clinic.

  • Ensure clinical areas are appropriately stocked and organised.

  • Work flexibly across multiple clinical sites.

  • Participate in out\-of\-hours, evening, weekend, and bank holiday services as required.
