We are looking for a part time Therapist to enable all our customers to depend on us for there dental care. By following efficient surgery procedures you will support the best utilisation of surgery time and will deliver the best dental care possible. offering professional dental care that is friendly compassionate and caring too. flexible on days
UDA/Private
The main duties include:
\- Responsible for carrying out certain dental treatment directly to patients or under prescription from a dentist,
\- Carry out clinical examination within competence
\- Complete periodontal examination and charting using indices to screen and monitor, diagnose and confirm treatment plan within competence. carry out oral cancer screening
\- Promoting good oral health and provide advice including on giving up smoking
\- Provide preventive oral care to patients and liaise with dentists over the treatment of caries, disease and tooth wear
\- Carry out direct restorations on primary and secondary teeth, carry out pulpotomies on primary teeth, extract primary teeth and place pre formed crowns on primary teeth
\- Undertake supragingival and subgingival scaling and root surface debridement
\- Use appropriate anti \- microbial therapy to manage plaque related diseases, adjust restored surfaces in relation to periodontal treatment and apply topical treatments and fissure sealants.
\-Give infiltration and inferior dental block analgesia
\-Place temporary dressings and re\-cement crowns with temporary cement, place rubber dam, take impressions.
\-Care of implants and treatment of peri\-implant tissues
\-Identify anatomical features, recognise abnormalities and interpret common pathology
\- if working on prescription, vary the detail but not the direction of the prescription according to patient needs
\- If qualified; tooth whitening to the prescription of a dentist, removing sutures
Requirements
\- Therapist qualification (diploma/degree)
\- GDC Registered
\- Evidence of clinical competence
\- Eligibility to work in the UK
\- Eligible / willing to work self employed
Desirable
\- Dual qualified as hygienist
\- proven track record of UDA delivery
\- Previous experience of private delivery
