Delivery Driver/ Warehouse Operative

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable, professional and motivated Driver / Warehouse Operative to join our client’s team. The role is driver focused, involving the safe and timely delivery and collection of goods across London, the Southeast and throughout the UK, with occasional European deliveries requiring overnight stays.

Alongside the driving responsibilities, you will support the warehouse team with the preparation, loading and unloading of goods, stock movements and associated administration.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced driver who enjoys a varied role, takes pride in providing a professional service to customers and is comfortable with both local and long-distance driving.

Key Responsibilities

Driving:

• Safely and professionally drive company vehicles to deliver and collect goods from customers and suppliers.


• Undertake regular deliveries and collections throughout London and the Southeast, as well as long-distance journeys across the UK, including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.


• Complete occasional deliveries and collections into Europe, which may require overnight stays.


• Ensure goods are transported safely, securely and in accordance with company procedures.


• Plan and manage journeys effectively, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed on time.


• Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers and colleagues when making deliveries and collections.


• Report any delivery issues, delays, vehicle concerns or other problems promptly.

Warehouse:

• Assist with loading and unloading vehicles using appropriate manual handling techniques.


• Prepare goods for delivery and collection, ensuring items are correctly packaged and secured.


• Assist with stock organisation, inventory checks, palletising and repackaging.


• Complete warehouse administration, including delivery notes, goods-in and despatch/goods-out documentation.


• Support the wider warehouse team when required.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with a suitable driving history.


• Comfortable undertaking UK-wide and occasional European driving, including overnight stays when required.


• Professional, reliable and responsible approach to driving and customer service.


• Good communication and interpersonal skills.


• Basic computer skills.


• Flexible attitude


• Ability to pass the necessary security vetting.


• Previous professional driving/delivery experience is highly desirable.


• Previous warehouse experience is desirable but not essential.


• Counterbalance forklift qualification would be advantageous.


• ADR / Dangerous Goods certification would be advantageous

Hours:

• Shift Rotation: Monday to Friday: 8.00am – 16:00pm & 9.30 – 18:00
