Data Scientist

Then join us at NORDEN as our new Data Scientist in the Quantitative Analytics team based in Copenhagen.
In this role, you will contribute to shaping how data is used in one of the world’s leading shipping companies, applying your interest in markets and data in a real\-life trading environment.
You will become part of a small, specialised team that plays a key role in supporting the trading organisation with market insights and decision\-making tools. At the intersection of data science and international shipping markets, you will work with extensive, unique datasets to spot patterns, create models and convert data into actionable insights that inform our commercial decisions.

The tasks that await you
In this role, you will:
- Develop and deploy analytical models that support decision\-making across key business functions using statistical methods and machine learning.
- Transform complex datasets into actionable trading signals and market insights.
- Apply modern AI and machine learning techniques to uncover new opportunities and improve business performance.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand challenges and deliver data\-driven solutions with measurable impact.
- Continuously improve models, methodologies, and analytical approaches to ensure scalable and high\-quality solutions.
- Stay up to date with developments in machine learning, AI and data science, and evaluate how new techniques can create business value.
We are looking for a curious and engaged colleague with an analytical mindset. We imagine that you already have:
- You have the legal right to work in Denmark.
- 0–5 years of relevant experience.
- A degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, computer science or a similar quantitative field.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Fluency in English, as this is our working language.
- Eligibility to work in Denmark.
While experience from shipping, a commodities trading house or similar environments can be beneficial but is not required.
