If this sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.

Department

Technology, Data & AI

About The Team

The Data & Analytics team is Justworks' data and AI center of excellence - a connected set of functions spanning business intelligence, data science, analytics engineering, data governance, platform data/ML engineering and AI builders. We've grown significantly over the last several years and continue to build momentum across the business, leveling up maturity in how we deliver insights, govern data, and enable the company to make better decisions. You'll find a highly collaborative & diverse group motivated by craft, shared learning, and a genuine commitment to growing our impact for customers while evolving how we work together for our people. Come build with us!

Who You Are

You're an experienced operator who thinks like a builder. You see recurring manual processes as automation opportunities, and you approach every operational problem with a bias toward systems that scale. You have genuine depth in data and AI and you understand how a diverse set of data teams work, and you bring that context into how you design the workflows, tooling, and practices that connect them.

AI is not a tool you use occasionally; it's how you approach operational problems by default. You're comfortable owning work management, knowledge systems, incident frameworks, and productivity tools and you know how to make all of it work together so a growing team can operate with precision.

You bring structure and follow-through to every forum you're in. You build trust with functional leaders and earn credibility through the quality of the systems you ship, not just the processes you document. Reporting to the VP of Data & Analytics, you'll own the internal operating infrastructure that lets DNA teams focus on the work that matters.

Your Success Profile

What You Will Work On

Operational Systems & Delivery

Own the standards and systems that make work management consistent across the Data & Analytics team - Jira hygiene, project tracking, delivery visibility - so that every team operates with the same rigor

Build the dashboards and reporting that give leaders visibility into overall system health and team throughput

Own operational workstreams within DNA-wide initiatives - standing up processes, managing dependencies, and tracking delivery

Knowledge, Rituals & Enablement

Build and maintain DNA's knowledge and context systems (Jira, Confluence, Slack) structured for both human and AI consumption

Own and/or help facilitate DNA's core team rituals - DNA All Hands, DNA Labs (learning & development), and Data Demos, ensuring they stay relevant, well-structured, and connected to what the team needs

Participate in and support DNA's extended leadership team forums

Build and run onboarding and enablement infrastructure for new DNA team members

Scale what works - turn high-impact patterns into shared standards, playbooks, and templates

AI-Native Workflows & Tooling

Design and build AI-powered workflows that eliminate repetitive operational work and free DNA teams to focus on higher-leverage work

Own DNA's operational tooling ecosystem - continuously optimize, standardize, and drive adoption across teams (Jira, Confluence, Slack workflows, AI tools)

Lead enablement and upskilling on ways of working within DNA

Continuously ask: what work here requires human judgment, and what can be automated? Then act on the answer

In this role, success looks like: DNA leaders have clear visibility into what's happening and where things stand. Manual processes are continuously replaced by better systems. Every quarter, the organization operates with less overhead and more precision than the quarter before.

How You Will Do Your Work

In the Data & Analytics Operations Manager role, how results are achieved is paramount for your success and ultimately results in our success as an organization. In this role, your foundational knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal attributes are anchored in the following competencies:

Balances Stakeholders - Understands internal and external stakeholder requirements, expectations, and needs and acts fairly despite conflicting demands of stakeholders.

Influence and Leadership - fostering a community of knowledge-sharing, collaboration, mentorship, and forward-thinking across the organization.

Qualifications

You're a builder who applies systems thinking to internal infrastructure. You're comfortable working across a diverse data organization and partnering with leadership to turn fragmented ways of working into scalable, durable systems.

5+ years in data operations, program or project management, platform operations, or a related role with a track record of building systems and tooling, not just managing processes

Deep fluency with AI as a core part of your workflow - you use Claude code or similar instinctively in your own work and know how to design systems that meaningfully leverage it

Experience working with modern data stack tools (e.g. Tableau, Sigma, Snowflake, Atlan)

Strong operational judgment applied internally - you approach operational problems with the same rigor as customer-facing ones, with a bias toward simple, scalable solutions

High data fluency - able to define meaningful metrics, instrument systems, and translate insights into action

Strong systems thinking - you can distinguish between process issues and structural problems, and know when to optimize vs. redesign

Clear, direct communication - able to surface what's working and what isn't, and influence across teams, including senior leadership

Nice to have

Experience building or scaling a data organization's operating system (e.g., delivery tracking, knowledge management, tooling, onboarding)

Experience in a high-growth environment, ideally within a regulated domain (fintech, healthcare, HR tech)
