Location: Málaga or Madrid (Spain) - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week
Ebury’s strategic growth plan would not be possible without our Data Analytics & Anti-Money Laundering teams and we are seeking a Data Analyst to join our Financial Crime domain!
Our data mission is to enable effective risk detection, monitoring and operational efficiency through robust data models, scalable analytics and high quality reporting. 
The team works closely with AML business teams, Compliance and Product to design and implement data-driven controls, detection mechanisms, and investigative tools across multiple jurisdictions.Projects range from building curated data models that power transaction monitoring and screening capabilities, to developing analytical frameworks for customer risk assessment, behavioural analysis, and investigation support across our global entities. 
<h3 id="E199" class="x-scope qowt-word-para-1">As part of the team you will </h3>
<ul>
<li id="E203" class="qowt-li-2_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Design and maintain data models and datasets used for transaction monitoring, customer risk assessment, and financial crime investigations.</li>
<li id="E205" class="qowt-li-2_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Own end-to-end delivery of FinCrime analytics solutions: requirements gathering, data extraction, transformation, validation, and deployment. </li>
<li id="E207" class="qowt-li-2_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Develop and optimise detection logic and monitoring rules (e.g. transaction monitoring scenarios, anomaly detection, behavioural patterns).</li>
<li id="E209" class="qowt-li-2_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Perform data quality checks and controls to ensure completeness, accuracy, and auditability of FinCrime datasets.</li>
<li id="E211" class="qowt-li-2_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Build dashboards and analytical tools in Sigma to support investigations, alert triage, and risk assessment workflows.</li>
<li id="E213" class="qowt-li-2_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Collaborate with investigators and compliance analysts to identify data gaps and deliver actionable insights.</li>
<li id="E215" class="qowt-li-2_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Contribute to the automation and continuous improvement of FinCrime processes (screening, monitoring, alert handling).</li>
</ul>
<h3 id="E219" class="x-scope qowt-word-para-1">What we’re looking for </h3>

<li id="E223" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">2-4 years Experience in Data/Business Analytics – preferably within FinCrime, Compliance, Risk, or Financial Services.</li>
<li id="E225" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Advanced SQL skills – able to read and write queries across complex datasets.</li>
<li id="E227" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Experience with our modern data stack tools is a plus: dbt, Google Cloud BigQuery, Sigma, Git.</li>
<li id="E229" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Experience building data pipelines, transformations, and analytical datasets.</li>
<li id="E231" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Solid understanding of financial crime frameworks.</li>
<li id="E233" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Experience working with Python is desirable.</li>
<li id="E235" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Knowledge of payment flows, FX, or banking products is desirable.</li>
<li id="E237" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Strong analytical thinking with focus on data quality, controls, and risk interpretation.</li>
<li id="E239" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Experience working with transaction monitoring systems or alerting frameworks is a plus.</li>
<li id="E241" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Ability to translate regulatory and compliance requirements into data logic.</li>
<li id="E243" class="qowt-li-3_0 qowt-list x-scope qowt-word-para-3">Fluency in English (Spanish, a plus).</li>
