We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Interim Head of Curriculum to join a leading post-16 education provider in London. The Opportunity
As Interim Head of Curriculum, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across curriculum delivery, ensuring learners receive an outstanding educational experience. You will lead curriculum teams, oversee quality improvement initiatives, manage staff performance and development, and drive high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement.
This role includes a teaching commitment and requires a hands-on leader who can quickly build relationships, implement improvements, and support staff and learners to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage curriculum provision to ensure high-quality teaching, learning, and learner outcomes.
- Drive quality improvement through self-assessment, quality improvement plans, and performance monitoring.
- Lead and develop curriculum staff, supporting performance, CPD, and professional growth.
- Manage student progress, retention, achievement, and pastoral support processes.
- Oversee learner tracking, monitoring, and intervention strategies.
- Ensure curriculum delivery meets regulatory requirements and organisational objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers, schools, universities, and other stakeholders.
- Lead on curriculum planning, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Deliver outstanding teaching as part of the role.
Essential Requirements
- Degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience leading curriculum teams within Further Education, Sixth Form, College, or Post-16 settings.
- Strong track record of curriculum development and quality improvement.
- Experience managing staff performance and driving positive learner outcomes.
- Excellent understanding of 16–19 study programmes, student progress tracking, and learner support.
- Experience using data to improve performance and achievement.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to motivate, inspire, and develop both staff and learners.
