A highly regarded and forward-thinking law firm in Tunbridge Wells is seeking an experienced Court of Protection Paralegal to join its established Private Client team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with previous Court of Protection and/or private client experience to develop their career within a supportive and professional environment. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced fee earners and play an important role in providing a high-quality service to clients and their families.
The Role
The successful Court of Protection Paralegal will provide comprehensive support across a varied caseload, assisting with the administration and management of Court of Protection matters.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting fee earners with a varied caseload of Court of Protection matters.
- Preparing and managing legal documentation, correspondence and reports.
- Supporting applications to the Court of Protection and assisting with ongoing matters.
- Managing client files, ensuring records and documentation are maintained accurately and efficiently.
- Liaising professionally with clients, family members, professional deputies, solicitors and other third parties.
- Handling incoming enquiries and correspondence and ensuring matters are progressed promptly.
- Preparing schedules, forms, bundles and other relevant documentation.
- Assisting with billing, time recording and general matter administration.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Providing general administrative and paralegal support to the Private Client team as required.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within Court of Protection, private client, trusts, probate or a closely related area of law.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Court of Protection Paralegal, Legal Assistant or similar role.
- A good understanding of Court of Protection procedures and terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to deadlines.
- A professional, empathetic and client-focused approach.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word and familiarity with legal case management systems.
- The ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a wider team.
