Location: Moorpark Recovery, Kilbirnie, Scotland

Hours: 30 hours per week

Salary: £46,000

Reports to: Operations Director, working alongside the Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)

About Moorpark Recovery

Moorpark Recovery is a residential rehabilitation service supporting adults with drug and alcohol dependency to rebuild their lives. Our model is person\-led, trauma\-informed and rights\-based, aligned with the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Standards, *Rights, Respect and Recovery* (2018\) and the NES Trauma\-Informed Practice Framework. We believe recovery is possible for everyone, and we build the conditions that make it stick.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Counsellor to join our small, integrated clinical team, working closely with our Advanced Nurse Practitioner to deliver holistic, coordinated care across each resident's recovery journey. You will provide therapeutic intervention from admission through transition, helping residents address the underlying drivers of dependency and develop the skills, insight and connections they need to sustain recovery.

This is a varied, hands\-on clinical post in a service where your work will make a visible difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one\-to\-one therapeutic counselling tailored to each resident's needs, presentation and stage of recovery.

  • Facilitate structured group sessions covering relapse prevention, emotional regulation, trauma, identity and recovery skills.

  • Contribute to multidisciplinary recovery planning alongside the ANP, support workers and external partners.

  • Provide family work, including psychoeducation, family sessions and support for affected others.

  • Maintain accurate, timely and secure clinical records in line with professional standards and Care Inspectorate expectations.

  • Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and information governance at all times.

  • Participate in clinical supervision, reflective practice and continuous professional development.
Essential Criteria
  • BACP, COSCA, UKCP or equivalent professional accreditation, or actively working towards accreditation.

  • Demonstrable experience in one or more of: addiction, trauma, mental health, or residential rehabilitation settings.

  • Ability to deliver 1:1 therapy, group work, recovery planning and family interventions.

  • Strong working knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and clinical record keeping.

  • Confident working within a multidisciplinary team and contributing to integrated care planning.

  • Commitment to trauma\-informed, rights\-based and person\-led practice.
Desirable
  • Familiarity with the MAT Standards, *Rights, Respect and Recovery* and the NES Trauma Framework.

  • Experience of working with co\-occurring mental health and substance use needs.

  • Training in modalities such as CBT, motivational interviewing, person\-centred therapy, or trauma\-focused approaches.
What We Offer
  • A meaningful role in a service genuinely committed to recovery outcomes.

  • Close clinical collaboration with the ANP and wider team.

  • Regular clinical supervision and protected time for CPD.

  • A supportive, values\-led culture where your professional judgement is respected.
How to Apply

To apply, please send your CV and a short covering letter outlining your interest in the role and how you meet the criteria. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview, which will include a clinical discussion.

Moorpark Recovery is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We welcome applications from people with lived experience of recovery, subject to our safer recruitment process and a satisfactory PVG check.
