Control Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 years experience in software design \& PLC software experience (Rockwell / Allen Bradley) and would have previously worked in a packaging equipment or special purpose machinery industry engineering products such as packaging machinery, process equipment and air, vacuum \& mechanical conveyors.
A proven track record in all aspects of automation control for automated machinery projects is essential. Experience in motion control / servo control systems would be advantageous
In this role you will be involved in all aspects of Controls engineering including, but not limited to PLC's \& HMI’s. You will be required to provide detailed documentation both during and upon project completion to other engineering departments and for the end user, such as FDS’s, FAT’s, User Manuals etc.
Main Tasks
MAIN TASKS
- Involvement in Design \& Development of new Control Systems.
- PLC / HMI Programming – Rockwell / Mitsubishi.
- Experience using software such as Studio 5000, Factory Talk View, GX Works 2, GT Designer 3 \& Machine edition.
- Implementation of Control Systems Software \& Associated Equipment.
- Support of existing and legacy control systems and machines.
- Following department procedures (SOP’s) to ensure software is developed in a controlled and repeatable manner.
- Support of continued machine improvement and maintenance of Control Systems \- including PLC's \& HMI's.
- Development of Functional, Hardware and Software Design Specifications from User Requirement Specifications.
Support and promote good teamwork within and outside of the department, and act in line with the company’s policies and values.
Ensure all Quality systems and procedures are utilised to achieve and improve good manufacturing practices (GMP).
To facilitate the development of an open and productive culture where people take pride and responsibility in what they do.
To contribute towards maintaining, promoting and developing high standards of Health \& Safety of self and others to comply with legal requirements.
Work towards the utilisation of Lean Manufacturing techniques in line with Company objectives to support the continuous improvement of the Company.
To carry out any other relevant tasks as may be required by circumstances or on request from the Company.
