Contracts Manager
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Contracts Manager / Project Manager to join our growing team at Architectural Engineering Limited.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects involving architectural steel glazing, fire\-rated doors and screens, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
Previous experience working with either Forster or Jansen systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple contracts from initial handover through to successful project completion.
- Oversee projects involving architectural steel glazing, fire\-rated doors and screens.
- Coordinate with clients, main contractors, architects and internal departments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage subcontract installation teams, ensuring works are completed safely and to the required standards.
- Attend site meetings, conduct site visits and monitor installation progress.
- Review technical drawings, specifications and project documentation to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Liaise closely with our design, procurement and manufacturing teams to coordinate project delivery.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, ensuring key milestones and delivery dates are achieved.
- Identify and manage project risks, variations and potential delays.
- Oversee project budgets, monitor costs and maintain commercial awareness throughout each contract.
- Ensure all relevant health and safety documentation, including RAMS, is prepared and maintained.
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide accurate project progress updates.
Essential:
- Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or Project Manager role within the construction, architectural glazing or specialist subcontracting industry.
- Previous experience working with Forster or Jansen steel glazing systems.
- Good technical understanding of steel glazing, doorsets and associated installation requirements.
- Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site installation activities.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise with clients, main contractors and internal teams.
- Strong problem\-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience working with fire\-rated doors, screens and glazing systems.
- Knowledge of relevant fire regulations, certification and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing commercial construction projects.
- Relevant construction qualifications, including SMSTS or CSCS.
- Experience managing project budgets, variations and contractual obligations.
