Content and Strategy Manager
Radio South West CIC is a new community\-focused radio station being developed to connect people, amplify local voices and support communities across Greater Glasgow and South West Scotland.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and organised Content and Strategy Manager to help shape the content, programming strategy and overall direction of the station as we develop.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Radio South West at an early stage and play an important role in building the station from the ground up.
The Role
As Content and Strategy Manager, you will help develop the station's content strategy and ensure that our programming reflects the communities we serve.
You will work closely with the Director, Board, presenters, volunteers, community organisations and partners to develop engaging, relevant and inclusive radio content.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Developing and helping implement the station's content and programming strategy.
- Helping shape the overall editorial direction of Radio South West CIC.
- Identifying ideas for new programmes, features, interviews and community\-focused content.
- Supporting presenters and volunteers with programme ideas and content development.
- Helping ensure our content reflects local communities, voices, experiences and perspectives.
- Developing relationships with community groups, local organisations and potential content partners.
- Planning content around community events, campaigns and important local issues.
- Helping identify opportunities to grow our audience and strengthen community engagement.
- Working with the Social Media and wider communications team to promote programmes and content.
- Contributing ideas to the station's future development and growth.
- Supporting the development of policies and processes relating to content and programming where appropriate.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about radio, media, communications, storytelling or community development and who can bring creative ideas and strategic thinking to the role.
Previous management experience in radio is not essential. We are interested in people who can demonstrate good judgement, organisation, creativity and a genuine interest in community broadcasting.
Experience in one or more of the following would be valuable:
- Radio, broadcasting or media
- Content development or editorial work
- Communications or marketing
- Digital or social media
- Journalism or storytelling
- Community engagement
- Project or team management
- Working with volunteers or community organisations
This is a hybrid role, combining remote working with opportunities to meet at our premises in Glasgow city centre and attend meetings, community activities and events as required.
The role offers flexibility and can initially be carried out on a voluntary basis alongside other commitments.

This role is initially voluntary.
As Radio South West CIC develops and secures funding, we hope to transition this position into a paid role, subject to funding being available. There may also be opportunities to become involved in other paid projects or roles as the organisation grows.
