The Group Sustainability department is responsible for the Group‑wide strategic development of sustainability and supports its implementation along the entire value chain. This includes developing the Group’s ESG strategies, advising the ESG Committee, and integrating ESG criteria into insurance business and asset management. In addition, the department further develops the Group‑wide environmental management system and is responsible for collecting and steering ESG‑relevant KPIs across the Group’s own operations.
The ESP 1\.2\.1 “ESG in Own Operations” team within Group Sustainability is responsible for the Group’s ESG and environmental management activities in own operations, including regulatory reporting and the Group’s Corporate Citizenship strategy. Furthermore, the team monitors and reports progress against defined targets for Own Operations within the framework of Climate Ambition 2030\.
We are looking for a Consultant Sustainability in ESP 1\.2\.1 who will take responsibility for key ESG topics and actively support Munich Re’s climate ambition.
This position is limited until end of June 2027\.
Your Job
- Contribute to Group‑wide ESG reporting for Own Operations as part of the annual reporting process, in line with regulatory requirements, in particular CSRD
- Support the achievement of the Climate Ambition 2030 targets
- Support the implementation of the Group’s Corporate Citizenship strategy
- Align methodological approaches with internal Group stakeholders
- Contribute to the use of AI to automate and optimize workflows and enhance reporting quality
- Support ESG data collection, validation, and reporting processes, including the further development of data infrastructure and data‑driven workflows
- Experience in reporting, accounting, or controlling, or a strong affinity for working with structured data and regulatory frameworks
- Experience working on Group‑wide projects involving multiple stakeholders is an advantage
- Strong affinity for data‑driven work and process optimization
- Independent and structured way of working combined with strong communication skills
- Confident use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Copilot
- Good written and spoken English skills
