Consultant Radiologist with interest in Breast Imaging

Consultant Breast Radiologist is required to accommodate the increasing workload and expand services. Flexible and Part\-time working options will also be available to suit personal circumstances. Successful applicants will join a department where providing excellent patient care is part of the culture. Post holders will have the FRCR and full GMC registration. CCT or its equivalent, the CESR is desirable.

We are seeking an enthusiastic radiologist to join a friendly team of imaging specialists working in a state of the art radiology department at New Cross Hospital, Royal Wolverhampton Hospitals NHS Trust. The Trust also operates imaging facilities in Cannock Hospital in Staffordshire, West Midlands

The post will support an increasing workload in the speciality. It is envisaged that the appointee will be committed to team working and provide a high quality service along with the existing cohort of 18 radiologists reflecting the dynamic nature of radiology services in this busy Trust with highly regarded cancer services. The appointee will be expected to take the MDT role in breast and experience of MDT is desirable.

New Cross Hospital is a 700 bed Teaching Hospital with a supra\-regional heart and lung centre. We are a tertiary referral centre for oncology and provide diagnostic imaging for all cancer subspecialties and are looking to provide an increasing range of interventional services for cancer patients. The closely knit consultant body underpins a supportive relationship between clinical specialities and Clinical Radiology allowing us to develop responsive imaging services. The post holder will have the option of sharing in the general cross\-sectional work of the department including the out of hour’s work, if they want to maintain other diagnostic interests.

The Radiology Department at New Cross Hospital is housed in a modern, purpose built PFI facility.

We are a highly regarded training department for specialist registrars on the West Midlands Radiology Scheme. Medical student teaching is one of our core activities.
