Priory Hospital Bristol is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist/Medical Director to join our team in a dual role across our Female Acute Ward
This is a full\-time position (5 days per week), with flexibility to work one day remotely (Tuesday or Wednesday). A competitive stipend is offered in recognition of the Medical Director responsibilities.
Based in Bristol, this role offers the opportunity to work within a well\-established service specialising in the treatment of complex mental health and addiction disorders. Our programmes are grounded in evidence\-based practice and focused on delivering high\-quality, patient\-centred care.### What you'll be doing
You will join the team on the Female Acute Unit. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.* Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983\).
- Supervising the process of referral and admission including contributing to preadmission assessments of young people with other team members.
- Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of adults.
- Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital, and contributing to the development of service strategy.
Essential* MRCPsych (or equivalent)
- CCT (or equivalent) and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register
- Section 12(2\) approval and Approved Clinician status
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience at Consultant level
- Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary teams
