CONSULTANT HAEMATOLOGIST

Bon Secours Hospital Cork is Ireland’s largest private hospital. Established in 1915, the hospital has 344 beds, employs over 1,000 staff and cares for more than 100,000 patients per annum. It is an acute general hospital providing an extensive range of medical and surgical specialties for both adults and children including Oncology, Cardiology, Orthopaedics, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Cardiothoracic and Radiotherapy Services.

The Hospital caters for urgent admissions from GPs in Medicine, Paediatrics and Surgery and operates a busy Medical Assessment Unit (MAU), Paediatric Assessment Unit (PAU) and Surgical Admission Unit (SAU). The Hospital has a fully equipped Intensive Care Unit, Coronary Care Unit, a High Dependency Unit and 11 modern theatres. The Hospital also possesses state\-of\-the\-art diagnostic facilities that provide rapid access to tests and results for patients and GPs throughout the Munster region.

Bon Secours Hospital Cork is a teaching hospital of UCC thereby making a significant contribution to the undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in medicine, nursing and allied health professions. The Hospital is proud to hold many quality accreditations including JCI, JAG, INAB, ASCO and ESMO.

In the context of the strategic development and expansion of services at Bon Secours Hospital Cork we are seeking to recruit a Consultant Haematologist to join our dynamic, highly qualified and experienced team delivered in a modern and well equipped hospital.

Our dedicated, compassionate Haematology/Oncology multidisciplinary team comprises NCHDs, Specialist Nurses, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, and Palliative Care Nurses.

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Haematologist to join our existing team of two Haematologists. The successful candidate will work closely with our wider specialist network, which includes three Oncology Consultants, two Radiation Oncology Consultants, a Palliative Care Consultant, and our Specialist Nursing team.

We would like to hear from suitably qualified and experienced Haematologists interested in building a private practice in a modern, technologically advanced hospital at the forefront of private medicine in Ireland. The successful applicants will need to be confident decision makers, committed team\-oriented individuals and possess excellent communication and engagement skills.

Application Process:

  • Applicants must hold registration as a specialist in the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland or entitled to be so registered.

  • Inclusion or eligibility to be included on the Surgical division of the register of Medical Specialist maintained by the Medical Council in Ireland.

  • Undertaken an International Fellowship in a relevant Specialty.
