Switzerland Global Enterprise (S\-GE) is the official Swiss organization for export and investment promotion. As a private consulting and platform organization working on behalf of the Confederation and the cantons with around 200 employees and more than 3,000 partners worldwide, S\-GE supports its customers with their international business development in more than 130 countries each year. S\-GE has its own teams (Swiss Business Hubs, SBHs) in approximately 45 countries. The Swiss Business Hubs are integrated into the diplomatic missions of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA).

For our Zurich office, we are seeking a resource to start immediately or on a mutually agreed date:

Consultant DACH (80\-100%) for our Export Promotion team.

Your Duties

  • Build and manage a sales pipeline for consulting mandates in Germany and Austria; acquire new projects, develop tailored solutions, prepare proposals, and lead negotiations for Swiss exporters

  • Manage the full client lifecycle from onboarding through project delivery, follow\-up, and long\-term relationship management, in close collaboration with the Swiss Business Hub in Stuttgart and external partners in Vienna

  • Develop and implement concrete market entry and expansion strategies for Swiss SME clients, including roadmaps, partner identification, and distribution development

  • Lead consulting mandates end\-to\-end, ensuring quality, timelines, budgets, and content standards are met; serve as a long\-term management advisor for clients’ international growth in the DACH region

  • Provide market\-relevant knowledge, networks, and intelligence on Germany and Austria, and position both markets as attractive destinations for Swiss companies

  • Initiate, organise, and lead inbound and outbound business delegations; represent S\-GE confidently at own and external events in Switzerland and in the DACH region

  • Support and operationally coach the Swiss Business Hub in Stuttgart

  • Develop and maintain the expert and partner network including SECO, FDFA, AHK, industry associations, and cantonal chambers

Your Profile
  • Master’s degree in Business or equivalent university degree, ideally with a focus on International Business, Export, Strategy, or Marketing

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in an international B2B context, preferably in the industrial sector (e.g. MEM, Aerospace, Life Sciences, Cleantech, ICT)

  • Deep understanding of the markets in Germany and Austria, in particular their industrial ecosystems; proven experience with market entry strategies, distribution development, and partner search

  • Strong consulting and communication skills at C\-level; excellent negotiation skills and strong intercultural competence

  • Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking combined with a hands\-on mentality; proactive mindset with a forward\-thinking approach to client engagement

  • A networker personality with strong social skills and genuine enjoyment of client contact

  • Existing network in the DACH region (AHK, industry associations, clusters) is a strong advantage

  • Independent, structured, and results\-oriented way of working

  • Prior experience in a Swiss industrial SME with an export focus, in a strategy or internationalisation consultancy is desirable

  • Prior experience working with public institutions or diplomatic missions is a plus

  • International experience (studies or professional activities), ideally in Germany or Austria is an advantage

  • German C2 (native level) and English C1 (business fluent) are essential; French and/or Italian are an advantage
