Curran Building Solutions is a multidisciplinary construction and engineering consultancy providing professional services to homeowners, contractors, builders and property developers throughout Ireland.

Our services include property surveys, Vacant Property Grant applications, quantity surveying and construction costings, project management, mortgage inspections and costings, Health \& Safety consultancy, PSCS support, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, RAMS and general construction advisory services.

We also supply steel lintels, structural steel and specialist construction products.

The Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced construction professional to join our team on a 3–5 day per week basis.

This is a varied role combining residential construction project support, quantity surveying/costing, grant applications, construction administration and client liaison.

The successful candidate must have a Quantity Surveying qualification and previous practical experience working within the residential construction sector, with a strong understanding of renovation, refurbishment, extensions and general building works.

Key Responsibilities

The role will include:

· Preparing construction cost estimates and cost plans for residential projects.

· Preparing schedules of works and detailed project costings.

· Producing costings for residential renovations, refurbishments and extensions.

· Preparing costings and supporting documentation for Vacant Property Refurbishment Grant and other grant applications.

· Preparing mortgage and lender costings.

· Reviewing contractor quotations and comparing proposed costs.

· Assessing variations and additional works.

· Reviewing invoices, valuations and project expenditure.

· Assisting clients with grant applications and supporting documentation.

· Liaising with County Councils regarding applications and requests for additional information.

· Liaising with homeowners, builders, contractors, suppliers and other construction professionals.

· Preparing Risk Assessments, Method Statements, RAMS and other construction Health \& Safety documentation.

· Assisting with PSCS and site Health \& Safety administration.

· Maintaining project files, cost trackers, registers and construction documentation.

· Preparing professional letters, reports and project correspondence.

· Assisting with steel lintel, structural steel and specialist construction product enquiries and quotations.

· Following up on outstanding information from clients, contractors and suppliers.

· Attending residential construction sites when required to assist with inspections, measurements, photographs and project documentation.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have previous construction experience within residential projects.

The successful candidate should also have:

· A strong practical understanding of residential construction, renovation and refurbishment works.

· Experience interpreting construction drawings, scopes of works and contractor quotations.

· Knowledge of construction materials, methods and typical residential construction costs.

· Strong numerical and commercial awareness.

· Excellent organisational and communication skills.

· The ability to manage several projects and deadlines simultaneously.

· Confidence dealing directly with homeowners, contractors, suppliers and professional consultants.

· Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and general IT skills.

· The ability to work independently while also supporting the wider Curran Building Solutions team.

A qualification or experience in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Surveying, Architectural Technology or a related construction discipline would be highly advantageous.

Previous experience with residential quantity surveying, construction costings, Vacant Property Refurbishment Grants, mortgage costings or Health \& Safety documentation would also be beneficial.

Working Arrangements

Days: 3–5 days per week
Location: Co. Louth / Curran Building Solutions office, with site attendance as required
Role Type: Part\-Time or Full\-Time depending on agreed working days
Site Work: Some attendance at residential construction sites will be required

This position may suit an experienced Quantity Surveyor, Construction Manager, Engineer, Building Surveyor, Estimator or other construction professional looking for a varied role combining technical construction knowledge, costing, project administration and client support.
