Construction Office Manager

NJN Design \& Build is an established construction company specialising in high\-quality residential building projects across the Cotswolds and surrounding areas.
We are looking for an experienced Construction Office Manager to take responsibility for the smooth day\-to\-day running of our office and provide operational and administrative support across the business.
This is a varied, hands\-on role requiring someone who is highly organised, confident managing multiple priorities and, importantly, has previous experience working within the construction industry.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors, site teams and Construction Administrator, as well as regularly liaising with architects, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
The role will include:
- Managing the company's vehicle fleet, including servicing, MOTs, insurance, breakdown cover and general fleet administration
- Managing company insurance policies, renewals and associated documentation
- Ordering and managing company uniform, PPE, stationery and general office supplies
- Overseeing health \& safety administration and ensuring appropriate H\&S documentation and PPE requirements are maintained
- Managing office equipment, IT equipment and other company assets
- Overseeing and supporting the Construction Administrator and helping to manage administrative priorities across live projects
- Maintaining organised electronic project files and ensuring documents, correspondence and construction drawings are filed within the correct projects
- Overseeing the collation and preparation of Operations \& Maintenance (O\&M) manuals and project handover documentation
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, architects, consultants and other third parties
- Attending internal and external project meetings where required and assisting with follow\-up actions
- Supporting the Directors with general operational and project administration
- Helping to ensure company records, policies, certificates and compliance documentation remain organised and up to date
- Providing general office management and administrative support as required
Previous experience working within the construction industry is essential for this position. We are looking for someone who understands how a construction business operates and is comfortable dealing with project documentation, drawings, site teams and external consultants.
You will ideally:
- Have previous experience in a construction office management, construction administration, project administration or similar role
- Have a good understanding of construction terminology and project documentation
- Be highly organised and able to manage several projects and priorities simultaneously
- Have excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to document management
- Be confident communicating with clients, architects, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
- Be comfortable taking ownership of tasks and following them through to completion
- Be flexible, adaptable and amenable, with a willingness to switch priorities and pick up urgent or unexpected tasks at short notice
- Understand that the nature of construction can sometimes require reasonable flexibility outside normal working hours, where an urgent matter requires attention
- Be comfortable working in a fast\-moving environment where priorities can change throughout the day
- Have strong Microsoft Office and general IT skills
- Be confident working independently while also supporting a wider team
- Have a practical, proactive approach and be willing to get involved wherever required
This is a key position within a growing construction business and would suit someone who enjoys being at the centre of operations and making sure everything behind the scenes is organised and running properly.
The role offers plenty of variety, with responsibilities spanning office management, project administration, compliance, fleet, health \& safety and general business operations.
Pay: £32,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year
