The Role: Complex Care Support Worker.

Hourly Rate: £14\.00 per hour, increasing to £14\.50 once signed off competent

Location: Swadlincote, South Derbyshire

Contract Type: Permanent with immediate start available. We offer the below contract:

*Part time* \- 20 Hour Contract

Shift Pattern:

Day shifts only with hours on Monday to Friday 4:00PM – 8:00PM.

DBS: An up\-to\-date DBS check is required (we can apply on your behalf if you don’t already have one).

Driver with access to a vehicle: Preferred

Our team of skilled professionals offers around\-the\-clock specialised care for people with spinal cord injuries and other complex needs, and we are now looking for like\-minded professionals to join us in providing top\-quality care that truly makes a difference.

It's important to note that we recruit with a person\-centred approach, meaning successful candidates will primarily work on one of our packages based in a single location. However, there is also the potential to work across various packages within the area.

The People in Swadlincote:

  • Providing compassionate care to a young child with challenging behaviour and epilepsy.

  • Your role will involve behavioural management and activity planning.

  • She loves imaginative play and sensory activities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored care to individuals with epilepsy, supporting seizure management, medication administration, and following care plans.

  • Support individuals with challenging behaviours, using positive behaviour support (PBS) techniques and de\-escalation strategies to ensure safety and wellbeing.

  • Assist individuals with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders, helping to create a calm, structured environment that caters to their specific needs.

  • Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and colleagues to deliver person\-centred care.

  • Encourage and support engagement in social and daily activities, helping individuals increase their independence and quality of life.

  • Maintain accurate care records, report on progress, and help adjust care plans as needed.
Key Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience working with epilepsy and challenging behaviours.

  • Experience or understanding of supporting individuals with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing disorders.

  • Strong understanding of positive behaviour support and ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and compassionate in high\-pressure situations.

  • A positive, empathetic approach to working with vulnerable individuals.

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health \& Social Care (or equivalent) is an advantage but not essential.

Training:
