Community Project Officer

We're looking for a Community Project Officer to drive community engagement in Market Rasen, helping local people identify opportunities, overcome barriers and access support that can transform their lives. Based at the Grange Collective, you'll build relationships, develop community-led projects and keep our hubs buzzing with activity, empowering residents to shape services that matter to them. As a Community Project Officer, a typical day might include:

• Leading on projects with Acis tenants, understanding how we can support them further.


• Overseeing all aspects of what is run across all sites at the Grange Collective in Market Rasen, ensuring our offering is engaging and supports the community.


• Running community engagement activity with local residents and stakeholders to identify local challenges, opportunities and solutions.


• Engaging with local people and groups to understand services they would like us to offer in Market Rasen.


• Working with local groups, organisations, partners (including universities and support services) and internal teams to identify and recruit new people to our services.


• Engaging at street level with local community members to identify local need.


• Developing community-led solutions to identified need.


• Supporting existing community organisations, groups and partners to develop new opportunities.


• Identifying and coordinating new routes to market to increase engagement and participant numbers.


• Promoting our services so people know what we offer, how to sign up and what to expect, including managing hub social channels and local marketing initiatives.


• Providing a clear overview of support needs as part of our warm handover to wider teams.


• Owning the customer support journey for your area, working with customers individually and in groups, assessing their skills, barriers and challenges and supporting them to produce a personalised action plan.


• Keeping the hub buzzing – leading customer service excellence on site through hub management, site administration and daily activity preparation.


• Ensuring site cover is in place at all times of opening.


• Following up on enquiries, checking satisfaction and supporting when it is not achieved.


• Following up with participants after attendance, discussing next steps and booking the next part of their journey.


• Working with the wider engagement team to ensure cover at events, hubs and activities as required.


• Building relationships with a wide range of local support services to offer a full, holistic package of support, meeting all participant and contract needs.

The must haves:

• General awareness of health and safety and building management


• Comfortable engaging with people both 1-2-1 and in groups


• Strong communicator with excellent customer service experience and skills


• Ability to work as a team, under pressure and in a fast-paced environment


• A good understanding of the barriers people face and the solutions that may benefit them


• Ability to work collaboratively, whether in the same team or with external support providers


• Good IT skills, with an eye for detail that's second to none


• You're a positive, energised and enthusiastic person, with a real zest for helping others


• Engaging and supporting people is what gets you up every day


• Nothing makes you happier than seeing someone progress, knowing you helped them get there


• Resilience. Working in the education, support and employment sectors is challenging but rewarding. You'll be helping to bring real change to peoples' lives.

• Qualification in Mentoring, Advice and Guidance or similar, or a mental health qualification


• MHFA qualified


• First Aid Trained


• Ability to deal with challenging behaviour at times


• An understanding of the different local services available for customers


• Interest in supporting the wider team with wellbeing activities, learning opportunities or employment support – with some skills to offer in this area


• Adept at change, with hands-on experience of new ways of working and bringing colleagues along for the experience
