About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and creative Community Engagement \& Communications Executive to play a central role in delivering an innovative funded project. Power Up Oxfordshire is a local programme that helps residents save energy and use cleaner, greener power. It offers advice, support, and collective purchasing discounts to make buildings more energy‑efficient and reduce carbon emissions. The project takes a hyper\-local approach, working with partners organisations and local community groups to create value\-driven engagement that is highly tailored to specific audience needs.

This role will focus on engaging communities, promoting the scheme, and supporting participants through their journey. Working closely with partners and stakeholders, you will design and deliver impactful communications and outreach activities to maximise participation and drive behavioural change around energy efficiency and renewable technologies. At the close of the project, you will work with the Project Manager to deliver outcomes and learnings to a variety of groups and organisations locally in an engaging manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on community engagement and outreach to promote participation in the group\-buy renewables scheme

  • Develop and deliver creative marketing and communications campaigns across multiple channels

  • Produce engaging content, including website copy, newsletters, social media posts, reels, and promotional materials

  • Manage and grow social media presence, including performance monitoring and analytics

  • Coordinate events, participate in workshops, and stakeholder meetings across Oxfordshire

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, partners, and contractors

  • Provide clear and accessible energy\-efficiency information and guidance to residents

  • Support participants throughout the scheme, acting as a key point of contact

  • Collect, manage, and analyse engagement and project data to inform reporting and improve delivery

  • Ensure all communications and data handling comply with GDPR and data protection regulations

  • Contribute to project reporting, presentations, and stakeholder updates
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Experience in communications, marketing, engagement, or outreach roles

  • Experience in energy or sustainability projects engaging directly with communities

  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to tailor messaging for different audiences

  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills

  • Creative and proactive, with the ability to develop engaging campaigns and ideas

  • Demonstrable ability to capture and create video content for social media

  • Experience managing social media platforms and interpreting analytics

  • Strong organisational and time\-management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively

  • Competence in data management and basic analysis

  • Excellent understanding of GDPR and responsible data handling

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) for communication, data handling, and document creation
· Experience using CRM systems to manage contacts, track interactions, and maintain accurate records

· Strong general IT skills, including file management, data entry, and use of digital collaboration tools

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and renewable technologies

  • City \& Guilds Level 3 Energy Awareness qualification (training will be provided if not currently held)

  • Carbon Literacy certification

  • Experience with value proposition and customer profile analysis
