Bloom \& Care is a small, independent, family\-run and nurse\-led home care provider supporting people to live safely and independently in their own homes across Bedford and the surrounding area.

We’re looking for a kind, reliable and compassionate Community Care Assistant to join our team on a regular, set working pattern.

Your Working Hours

Monday: 7:00am–2:00pm

Tuesday: 7:00am–2:00pm

Friday: 7:00am–11:00am

Every other Saturday \& Sunday: 7:00am–12:00

Guaranteed contracted hours – no zero\-hour contracts.

With a set working pattern, you’ll know when you’re working in advance, giving you greater security and making it easier to plan your life around work.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll support regular clients in their own homes, helping them to remain safe, comfortable and independent while providing care that is respectful, unhurried and centred around the individual.

Your role may include:

• Personal care and support with washing and dressing


• Medication support


• Preparing meals and drinks


• Supporting mobility


• Continence care


• Light household tasks


• Companionship and reassurance


• Promoting independence, dignity and choice


• Accurately recording care using our digital care system

One of the things that matters most to us is continuity of care. Wherever possible, you’ll visit regular clients and become a familiar face, giving you the opportunity to build genuine, trusting relationships with the people you support.

About You

You don’t need to be the loudest person in the room or have years of experience. What matters to us is that you are kind, dependable, patient and genuinely care about making a difference to people’s lives.

You’ll need to be comfortable working independently in the community while also being part of a supportive wider team.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role.

Previous care experience is welcomed, but it isn’t essential for the right person. If you have the right values and attitude, we can provide full training and ongoing support to help you develop your confidence and skills.
