Communications \& Community Executive

What you’ll be doing

This is a varied and exciting role where no two days will be the same. You will play a key role in developing our online presence, telling our stories, building relationships with local organisations and helping us to strengthen our connection with the communities in which we operate. The role will involve creating content, building relationships and helping promote the company and its involvement in the local community.

This role encompasses three key areas; Social Media, PR and Community Projects;

\- You will take day\-to\-day responsibility for our social media channels, creating content that is engaging, relevant and reflects our brands.

\- You'll also help us tell the stories behind our brands and identify opportunities to generate positive PR.

\- And help us identify opportunities where Radnor Hills can make a positive contribution, while ensuring our community activity reflects our business values.

You'll have the opportunity to meet a wide range of people and organisations and play a real part in strengthening our reputation and relationships locally.

Day to day responsibilities:

\- Identifying news, stories and opportunities that could generate positive media coverage.

\- Planning, creating and publishing engaging content across platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

\- Developing and maintaining social media content calendars for Radnor Hills and Canny Snacks.

\- Working with internal teams to identify company news, product stories, people stories and exciting content opportunities.

\- Supporting the growth of engagement, reach and followers across our social channels.

\- Keeping up to date with social media trends and identifying new opportunities to engage our audiences. Creating and adapting content for different platforms and audiences.

\- Assisting with press releases, media materials, announcements and other communications.

\- Building relationships with journalists, publications, influencers and relevant media contacts.

\- Supporting PR campaigns, product launches, events and other brand initiatives.

\- Ensuring communications are consistent with our brand guidelines, company policies and relevant legislation.

\- Building strong relationships with local community groups, charities, schools, clubs and organisations. Seek new opportunities to reach out to our local community.

\- Managing and responding to charity enquiries and ensuring requests are directed through the appropriate internal processes.

\- Take ownership of school engagement activities, including school talks, tours and educational visits.

\- Coordinating work experience placements and acting as a key point of contact for schools, pupils and parents.

\- Capturing appropriate stories, photographs and content from community and charity activity and sharing these across our communications channels.

You'll ideally have:

\- At least 3 years' experience in PR, communications, marketing or media.

\- A degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related subject.

\- Extensive experience using social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn.

\- Strong copywriting and editing skills.

\- Experience creating engaging content for different audiences and platforms.

\- Experience working with media, influencers or external agencies.

\- Experience supporting or attending events, launches, exhibitions or community activities.

\- Experience managing multiple campaigns, projects and deadlines.

\- An engaging, flexible presentation style and confidence when talking to groups of varied sizes.

\- Relationship management experience – charity sector, education and B2B.

\- Good IT skills, including full Microsoft Office suit.

\- A full UK driving licence.

Hours and Location:

You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday; however, flexibility will be required to attend events, and travel/ overnight stays as and when necessary.
