Commissioning Engineer
We are currently seeking an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an integral part of our team, you will play a crucial role in the successful implementation and commissioning of electrical protection systems for our esteemed clients.
Responsibilities
As an HV Commissioning Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
Commissioning and Testing: Lead the commissioning process of electrical protection systems, including relays, switchgear, generators, transformers, and other associated equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and compliance with industry standards.
System Integration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate protection systems seamlessly into the overall electrical infrastructure of client projects.
Performance Assessment: Conduct comprehensive testing and analysis of protection schemes to validate their performance and accuracy under different operating conditions.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to protection systems during commissioning, providing efficient solutions to ensure optimal performance.
Project Management: Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination to meet project milestones and deadlines effectively.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, test results, and any modifications made, ensuring accurate and up\-to\-date project documentation.
Client Interaction: Interact with clients during the commissioning process, addressing their inquiries and providing technical support when required.
Safety Compliance: Prioritize safety during commissioning tasks, adhering to company safety policies and industry best practices.
Qualifications
Education: Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems subject.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of hands\-on experience in commissioning electrical protection systems. Experience with generator excitation systems and generator control panels will be an added bonus.
Technical Expertise: In\-depth knowledge of protection relays, Intelligent Electronic Devices, and substation automation systems. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and protocols is preferred.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem\-solving abilities to assess protection system performance and troubleshoot issues effectively.
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage projects, prioritise tasks, and work under tight deadlines.
Team Player: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross\-functional teams and clients.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and industry advancements.
Safety Conscious: A proactive approach to safety and a commitment to following safety guidelines and procedures.
Certifications: Industry certifications related to electrical protection systems and commissioning will be an advantage.
Willingness to Travel: Willing to travel locally and occasional overseas trips with a reasonable notice.
