Role Overview:
As a Commercial Property Lawyer, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of commercial property matters, acting for a range of businesses, investors, developers and individuals. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial property professional looking to join an established team and play an important role in the continued development of the department.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Department and will have the opportunity to take on some of the day-to-day people management responsibilities in their absence. Previous experience of supervising or managing a team would be advantageous, although this is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a varied caseload of commercial property matters from instruction through to completion.

  • Deal with a range of commercial property transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, leases, lease renewals, assignments, transfers and landlord and tenant matters.

  • Advise clients on commercial property matters and provide clear, practical and commercially focused legal advice.

  • Work closely with clients, other solicitors, agents, lenders and other professional advisers to progress transactions efficiently.

  • Undertake legal research and ensure all transactions comply with current legislation, regulations and best practice.

  • Draft, review and negotiate leases, licences, contracts, agreements and other commercial property documentation.

  • Support the Head of Department with the day-to-day running of the team and provide guidance to more junior members of staff where required.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and a high level of client service.

  • Utilise case management systems and technology effectively to maintain an efficient and well-organised caseload.


About You:
  • A proven ability to manage a diverse commercial property caseload with minimal supervision.

  • Experience across a range of commercial property transactions, including landlord and tenant work, acquisitions and disposals.

  • Strong technical knowledge and the ability to provide practical, commercially focused advice.

  • Exceptional communication skills, organisational ability and attention to detail.

  • A positive, client-focused approach with the ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships.

  • The confidence to work closely with the Head of Department and provide support to junior members of the team.

  • Previous experience of supervising or managing staff would be advantageous but is not essential.

  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.
