Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide legal counsel, guidance, and solutions to clients on commercial property and residential investment matters.
- Assist the department in meeting its fee-earning targets by providing help and advice to clients across various departments.
- Collaborate with clients, financial institutions, and other stakeholders to structure commercial property transactions effectively.
- Draft and review legal documents and ensure all transactions adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including AML and KYC procedures.
- Identify legal obstacles or concerns impacting transactions and work to resolve them.
- Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to real estate financing in the UK.
- Supervise junior staff and provide strategic advice on risk management and mitigation for commercial property deals.
- Promote good file management and understand the importance of time recording and financial control.
- Engage in firm activities, including marketing, outside of normal working hours, and contribute to the development and success of the firm.
- A good honours degree followed by LPC, training contract and PSC, or SQE and qualifying work experience, or CILEX to Fellow level, LPC and PSC, and admitted by SRA as a solicitor.
- Professional and courteous communication skills, both internally and externally.
- Analytical mindset with strong organisational skills to manage multiple transactions and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to regulatory and compliance procedures.
- Experience with Practice Evolve or other practice management systems.
- Familiarity with Practical Law and LexisNexis.
