Commercial Officer

On behalf of the MOD, we are looking for x2 Commercial Officers (Inside IR35\) for a 24 month hybrid contract based in Corsham.

The successful candidate will have an expectation of 3 office working days per week.

As a Commercial Officer, your main responsibilities will be:

• Lead end\-to\-end procurement activity, from sourcing strategy and market engagement through to evaluation, contract award, and supplier management.


• Manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance, strong performance, and value for money throughout the contract lifecycle.


• Build effective relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners to deliver commercial objectives.


• Provide expert commercial advice to projects and programmes, supporting informed decision\-making and governance approvals.


• Drive category strategies, identify savings opportunities, and respond effectively to changing business priorities.


• Champion MOD commercial standards, continuous improvement, and resolution of complex commercial issues.

PLEASE NOTE: DV Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing \& eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short\-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.

Essential:

• Proven experience within Public Sector procurement, including knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23\).


• Demonstrable track record managing large, complex contracts throughout the commercial lifecycle.


• Experience managing large, complex contracts.

Desirable:

• Defence sector experience desirable.


• Technology/IT procurement experience advantageous.


• MCIPS Level 4
