Allied Access is a leading scaffolding and access solutions provider delivering major construction and infrastructure projects across the UK.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint a commercially driven and personable Commercial Manager to help strengthen existing client relationships, win new business, and support the ongoing expansion of the company.
This is not a purely desk\-based estimating role.
We are looking for someone with personality, presence, and strong industry relationships — someone who enjoys being client\-facing, building trust, developing opportunities, and representing the business professionally both on and off site.
Whether that’s meeting clients, entertaining, attending industry events, or building relationships over a round of golf, this role is centred around developing long\-term partnerships and driving commercial growth.
The Role
This is a senior commercial position combining:
- Business development
- Client relationship management
- Estimating and tendering
- Commercial oversight
- Quantity surveying responsibilities
The successful candidate will become a key figure within the business and play an important role in shaping its future growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and key industry contacts
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across scaffolding and access sectors
- Represent the company at meetings, networking events, hospitality events, and client entertainment opportunities
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiations with clients and stakeholders
- Prepare competitive estimates, quotations, and tender submissions
- Manage commercial aspects of projects from tender stage through to final account
- Oversee valuations, variations, applications for payment, and commercial reporting
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Support the continued development of the company’s commercial strategy and growth plans
- Proven experience within the scaffolding or access industry
- Strong commercial awareness and business development ability
- A confident, personable, and relationship\-driven approach
- Experience building and maintaining client relationships
- Strong understanding of scaffolding systems, pricing, and project delivery
- Experience within estimating, commercial management, or quantity surveying
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Self\-motivated with the ability to work independently and drive opportunities
- Existing industry contacts and relationships
- Experience with both tube \& fitting and system scaffolding
- Quantity Surveying or Construction\-related qualification
- CISRS or scaffolding\-related qualifications
- Experience working on major construction or infrastructure projects
