Commercial Lead – Antwerp Cement Terminal

Novada Cement Belgium is a subsidiary of Medcem Group, the largest cement exporter in Türkiye. As part of its strategic expansion in the Belgian and Benelux markets, Novada Cement has invested in a cement terminal in Antwerp to supply cement products to customers in Belgium and surrounding regions.
Our ambition is to grow our presence in the Benelux by expanding our customer base, developing our product portfolio, improving service reliability, and building a strong commercial and operational platform in the region.
Role Overview
We are looking for a commercially minded, hands\-on and flexible Commercial Lead to support our existing team and help drive the growth of our Antwerp terminal business.
This role is suitable for someone who understands that commercial success in cement, construction materials, bulk materials or industrial products is not only about selling. It also requires customer follow\-up, logistics coordination, pricing discipline, operational awareness, credit risk control, problem\-solving and persistence.
The Commercial Lead will work closely with customers, logistics partners, terminal operations, finance and management. The person will support existing customers, develop new opportunities, help coordinate day\-to\-day commercial matters, and contribute to the long\-term growth of the business.
This is a role for someone who is ready to be flexible. As the business grows, responsibilities may expand. We are looking for someone who can grow with the company, take ownership, adapt to changing priorities and support the business wherever commercial and customer\-related help is needed.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers
Identify and follow up on new customers, prospects and market opportunities
Visit customers and stay close to the market
Support commercial discussions around pricing, volumes, product needs, delivery terms and payment terms
Understand customer requirements and provide practical, commercially sound solutions
Follow up sales opportunities from first contact to order confirmation and delivery
Monitor market activity, competitor behavior, pricing trends and customer feedback
Help grow sales while protecting margins and avoiding unnecessary commercial risk
Make sure commercial agreements are clearly communicated internally
Help resolve customer issues related to deliveries, documentation, product availability or service
Support the team in practical day\-to\-day matters when required
Stay flexible and contribute beyond a narrow job description as the business develops
Maintain clear records of customer visits, opportunities and market information
Support sales pipeline tracking and commercial planning
Collect and report information on customer demand, volumes, price expectations and competitor activity
Help prepare sales forecasts and customer updates
Identify risks related to payment behavior, credit exposure, margins and commercial commitments
Follow up persistently and keep management informed of important developments
Candidate Profile
Proven experience in sales, business development, commercial coordination or customer\-facing roles
Experience in cement, concrete, aggregates, construction materials, bulk materials, logistics, trading or industrial products is a strong advantage
Direct cement or cementitious materials experience is preferred but not mandatory
Experience with customers in Belgium, the Netherlands, Northern France or the wider Benelux region is an advantage
Commercially minded, practical and results\-oriented
Flexible, hands\-on and willing to support the business as it grows
Comfortable visiting customers and spending time in the market
Strong follow\-up discipline and ability to turn opportunities into concrete action
Good judgment around pricing, margin, payment risk and customer reliability
Organized, reliable and accountable
Able to work independently while staying aligned with the wider team
Comfortable working in an international and multicultural business environment
Professional communication skills in English are required
Experience using SAP and other reporting tools for commercial follow\-up is preferred
