Commercial Engineer

Principal Duties

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, I\&C Engineering, or related fields, with specialization in Commercial Management or Sales Management.


• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical\-commercial roles within the Oil \& Gas, energy, or engineering sectors.


• Experience in preparing technical and commercial proposals.


• Participation in public and private bidding processes.


• Experience in technical negotiations with industrial clients.


• Advanced ability to interpret technical specifications.


• Cost analysis and budget structuring.


• Technical and commercial risk management.


• Knowledge of technical standards and regulations in the sector.


• Experience using CRM systems and commercial planning tools.


• Basic financial analysis skills (margin, ROI, costs).


• English level B2\+ (desirable).

• 100% remote – Venezuela.

Principal Duties

• Analyze the market and identify business opportunities aligned with the commercial strategy.


• Evaluate preliminary technical, financial, and strategic feasibility before initiating a bid.


• Register, update, and manage opportunities in the corporate CRM system.


• Review tender documents, technical specifications, and contractual/legal requirements. Identify deviations, risks, and constraints.


• Request technical clarifications from clients when necessary.


• Develop technical proposals in coordination with the Engineering team, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.


• Define scope, exclusions, deliverables, assumptions, and technical requirements.


• Estimate direct and indirect costs and prepare structured budgets.


• Apply commercial margins according to company policy and incorporate risk analysis and contingencies when required.


• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Finance to validate the technical and economic consistency of proposals.


• Participate in internal bid review processes.


• Attend technical and commercial meetings with clients, including negotiations on scope, schedule, and contractual conditions.


• Ensure the final contract accurately reflects the approved commercial proposal.

• Lead handover meetings to the project execution team, ensuring proper transfer of scope, risks, and commitments.


• Analyze awarded and non\-awarded bids to identify improvements.


• Propose improvements in estimation methodologies and proposal presentation.


• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimation methods, proposal quality, and cost databases.
