Candidate profile (title) About this work area
Candidate profile (text) \- Default language We are looking for a Commercial Activity Specialist with a strong focus on events, activities and local relationships to join our team at IKEA Gentofte for a temporary one\-year assignment.
In this role, you will be the event coordinator in the house: planning an inspiring activity calendar, coordinating projects, and bringing events to life. You will help make IKEA Gentofte a welcoming and relevant place to visit — both for our customers and for the local community.
The role is part of the Commercial Activity team, which means you will also contribute to commercial activities and help drive sales. However, the focus is on creating engaging experiences, building strong local connections, and increasing visitation through meaningful events and activities.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Plan, coordinate and execute events and activities at IKEA Gentofte.
- Create and maintain a local event and activity calendar based on customer needs, seasonal opportunities, and business priorities.
- Bring events from IKEA’s head office to life locally, ensuring strong execution and excellent customer experience.
- Identify and develop new local activities that are relevant for IKEA Gentofte and beneficial for driving both visitation and sales.
- Network with local organisations, businesses and community partners, helping IKEA Gentofte be a visible and trusted good neighbour.
- Coordinate stakeholders, practical details, communication and follow\-up before, during and after each event.
- Collaborate with shopkeepers and co\-workers across the store to create activities that inspire and engage customers.
- Evaluate activities, learn from results, and use insights to improve future events and commercial impact.
- Contribute to other commercial activities when needed, including actions that support customer engagement and sales.
- Be responsible for keeping parts of our local website fresh and updated, making sure our digital content is always engaging for our customers.
Key responsibilities (text) You are a natural relationship builder who enjoys connecting with people, making things happen, and creating experiences that have a purpose. You are organised enough to manage many details, but creative and curious enough to see opportunities others may miss.
You enjoy finding new and creative ways to engage our customers and the local community. You have a short distance from idea to action, are not afraid to test and try, and see every activity as an opportunity to learn and improve.
We believe you have:
- Experience in event coordination, project planning, marketing, community engagement, or a similar field.
- Strong planning and coordination skills, with the ability to take an idea from concept to execution.
- Confident communication and networking skills, both with internal and external partners.
- A creative, solution\-oriented and “test and try” mindset.
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating across many teams and functions.
- An interest in retail, home furnishing and creating value for customers.
- A commercial mindset and motivation to connect activities to visitation, customer engagement and sales.
Team vision (text) You will be part of the Commercial Activity team at IKEA Gentofte and report to Commercial Activity Leader, Frida Stefansson. Together, the team creates relevant customer experiences and commercial activities that support the meeting with our customers. You will work closely with colleagues across the store as well as with partners and stakeholders in the local area.
