Commercial Account Handler

The Role
As a Commercial Account Handler, you'll work closely with Account Executives to manage and service commercial insurance accounts, ensuring clients receive a professional, responsive, and high-quality service. You'll be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with insurers, supporting policy administration, and ensuring all work is completed accurately and in line with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Account Executives with the day-to-day servicing of commercial insurance accounts.
- Manage policy administration, renewals, mid-term adjustments, and client documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurers and negotiate where appropriate.
- Apply technical insurance knowledge to support client enquiries and policy requirements.
- Ensure accurate client records, invoicing, and data management.
- Maintain compliance with FCA regulations and internal procedures.
- Develop positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a customer-first approach in all interactions.
- Take ownership of your professional development and maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Commercial Account Handler or within a similar commercial insurance broking role.
- A good understanding of commercial insurance products, policy wordings, underwriting, claims, and broking processes.
- Knowledge of FCA regulations and industry compliance standards.
- Experience using Acturis (Advantage experience would be beneficial).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Cert CII qualified or working towards achieving this qualification is desirable.
