Are you a CNC Machinist with experience carrying out machine maintenance, fault finding or servicing on CNC machinery, looking to step into a full-time Machine Tool Engineer position with one of the UK's leading specialist forging manufacturers, offering long-term stability?

Established in the 1800's, this long-standing heavy engineering specialist delivers high-integrity forged and machined components into critical sectors including aerospace, defence, marine, nuclear, oil & gas and power generation. The company focuses on large-scale, complex, tight-tolerance components, offering in-house open die forging, machining, heat treatment and testing capabilities.

In this role, you'll work alongside an experienced maintenance team, learning how to carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and breakdown repairs across a variety of CNC machine tools and production equipment. You'll build on your existing machine knowledge while receiving ongoing support to become a fully competent Machine Tool Engineer.

The role would suit a CNC Operator, CNC Setter/Operator or CNC Machinist who has experience carrying out first-line maintenance, machine fault finding or minor repairs, and is looking to progress into a dedicated maintenance engineering career.

The Role:

  • Working alongside experienced Machine Tool Engineers on planned maintenance and breakdowns.

  • Learning to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.

  • Carrying out preventative maintenance on CNC machines and production equipment.

  • Working a permanent rotating days shift (06:00-16:00 Monday-Thursday / 06:00-14:00 Monday-Friday).

The Person:
  • CNC Operator, CNC Setter/Operator or CNC Machinist

  • Experience carrying out machine maintenance or fault finding

  • Keen to progress into a full-time Machine Tool Engineer role

  • Commutable to Birmingham
