The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will carry out care duties for patients, in support of a registered nurse, and will regularly work unsupervised.
The post holder will carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward environment.
Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.
The working pattern for this role is \- Rotational
In this key role, you will:
- Commitment to ongoing personal development, as identified personally or due to the needs of the services
- Participate in personal career development planning to maintain skills and develop personal growth through training and education.
- Knowledge of all relevant National and Local Policies, legislation, procedures, etc
- Work within NHS Lanarkshire policies and procedures (eg Health and Safety, Security, Fire, Cardiac Arrest, etc), as well as local guidance to ensure maintenance of confidentiality and safe working practices for patients and colleagues and promote the effective use of resources.
- SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
